Downloadable eAudiobooks.
Hackley Public Library offers downloadable eAudiobooks through NetLibrary and Overdrive to Hackley Library card holders.
Netlibrary: First, go to Hackley Public Library (you must be in the building) and set up an account by going to http://www.netlibrary.com/ and clicking on Create an Account (in the upper right hand corner). Fill in the fields, then click on "Create Account". Now that your account is created, you can search for titles from home through the online catalog. To browse all available titles, do an author search of "NetLibrary, Inc." When you find a title you like, click on the full record, then on the link in the "Connect to" box. Be sure to log in to NetLibrary by clicking on the LOG IN button in the upper left hand corner. Then, click on "download this eAudiobook" and follow the directions on the next screen. Once the title is on your computer, double click it to open up your media player. You can listen to it through your computer, or sync it to your MP3 player. Be sure to follow the directions for your media player and MP3 player.
Overdrive To use Overdrive, either find a book in the library's catalog, or go directly to the Overdrive site. You do not need to register in the library, but you will need to have your library card handy. You will also need to download the Overdrive Media Console before downloading a book. Find a book, follow the directions, and happy reading! Overdrive does have a very nice slide presentation on their product. Look for it under Help.
